Saw this today over at my friend Anne's site. Thought that I would re-post it here. What do we now do with this? How do we respond? What feelings does it invoke in you? I was a teary mess 8 out of the 9 min. Please be warned that this is not for the faint at heart...or maybe it is. Or maybe it should be for the faint of heart and the for those with a hardened heart. Either way discuss.... … [Read more...]

Daily Photo Journal January 31, 2009 This morning I woke up to an email from one of my favorite people on the planet, Mr. Drew Sherman. He is my mentor, my friend, my lead pastor and a great partner in the Kingdom. His email said that he had the flu and may need me to step in and preach on his campus tonight. This morning I am praying, tweaking and studying over my notes and scriptures for tomorrow so that I can bring the noise for him this evening. I pray that he gets better so he can bring it, but if not...I am ready to Rock Colleyville's Face Off Tonight. Picture compliments of MY SMOKIN' HOT WIFE!!! … [Read more...]
LIPSTICK LOVER

Last night around 7:15ish my house got rather quiet. Ella, my four year old, was coloring and watching a show. Laura, my wife, was on the phone with her mom. I was working on some reading and relaxing. The quiet was due in part to the fact that Natalie, my two year old, was in the other room. When we don't hear her, we know something is usually up. All of a sudden she busted into the living room from our kitchen with a huge smile on her face. A smile that says..."I am proud of what I did!!!" Laura looks up from the phone and I hear her say..."WHAT IS THAT ON YOUR FACE?" She throws down the phone and runs towards Natalie. She starts yelling..."WHY DO YOU HAVE BLOOD ON YOUR FACE?" Then she looks and cannot figure out what the blood looking substance on her face is...THEN...it clicks. Natalie has gotten into her purse and has been sitting under the kitchen table for the better part of 10 min. learning the art of putting lipstick all over ones face. We both wanted to scream and yell, but … [Read more...]

PRIORITY
This morning is quite a hilarious morning to me. Here in Dallas the entire city is shut down. Last night ARCTIC BLAST 2009 swept through and put a thin sheen of reflection on roughly 6 million lives. We awoke in our house at 4:03am today. First it was Ella getting up to simply tell us that she loves us (how sweet...or creepy sleepwalker). Then it was Natalie at 4:09am letting us know she was thirsty and needed to go potty. Then Laura and I realized that it was a tad bit frigid in a house with the warmth setting 25 degrees below 100 (you are doing the math right now...I know). At 4:19am I was standing in our hallway re-setting the thermostat. After much tinkering and mimicing the HVAC guy...my knock off attempts were not working. At 4:24am I crawled back in bed and declared that it was in fact broken. At this point we are hunkered down in our bed with enough blankets to cover half of a small country. 4:45am I am on the phone with the HVAC experts and will get to see them somewhere … [Read more...]
THIS ROCKED MY WORLD!!!
Today and tomorrow I am attending the Innovate Conference here in Dallas. This quote ROCKED my world in our first main session. "I don’t need to show people how smart I am…I need to show them how good God is" -Stacey Spencer It always amazes me that we try so hard to impress people with what we know, that we miss out on showing them how good God really is. I know that I am guilty of it and so are you. My guess is, that if we were to stop trying so hard to further ourselves and worked harder at furthing the Kingdom, that more people would be willing to follow. Just a thought. More thoughts coming from Innovate tomorrow. … [Read more...]
