SOMETIMES THE SUN MAKES ME ANGRY…

Sometimes the sun makes me angry…

Not to the point that I will no longer befriend it,

mostly to the point that I want it to go away for a bit.

Sometimes the clouds that cover that celestial ball of radiating heat make me happy…

It brings me joy to know that there is still something that can get creative enough to cover our source of light and heat.

I know that it may sound a bit morbid or to some a little bit dreamy,

But I rather enjoy a soft fluffy piece of joy in my day as opposed to a blinding piece of yellow.

Sometimes the rain brings me a jolt of joy…

the thunder clapping makes me feel as if there is one bigger than I,

the lightning flashing brings me to my knees in submission every time,

maybe this is the way that I was meant to live.

The sun makes me angry sometimes…

but other times it brings me great joy,

To lay in a blanket of freshly mowed grass that is cool to the touch,

and have the sun reach down and warm my entire being,

that is pure joy.

To have it embrace me and give me hope,

to remind me that I am a piece of the warmth it brings,

gives me assurance that none other can bring.

Sometimes the sun makes me angry…

Sometimes…

About the Author

Trevor

What makes me...well...me? There are a lot of things that make up the complexities of who I am. I love God, my wife, my two little girls, and all types of crazy interesting people. I love good conversation, a bit of controversy, rebellion with a cause, and hot green tea. I love to write, read, take photos, and spend time on my patio with good friends and my beautiful family. Scripture confuses, perplexes, intrigues, and floors me. It brings me hope, joy, and frustration. I work for one of the greatest churches in the country with the greatest team ever assembled. We will challenge you and your staff to a duel on the playground at 3:10 on any afternoon. This space is for us to conversate and share thoughts on life, love, creativity, and ministry. Welcome to my little nook of the web. I hope you will come in, take off your shoes and stay awhile.
