SUNDAY NIGHT REFLECTIONS
Posted in: ChurchIt was at 5:50am this morning that I was driving in the dark towards a sleepy little town named Roanoke, TX. I prayed another simple prayer from the lips of a very simple man. My prayer was this:
“GOD, make yourself known today in ways that I never knew existed. God, show up in ways that will make us know that it was you and not us. God change lives today. God transform lives today. God bring comfort and peace to those that are hurting. God…simply…bring people today.”
Just when I thought that our Sunday worship moments together could not get any better, God just keeps answering simple prayers. I don’t know why it surprises me so much when he does. I mean I did ask him to do these things. So why I am so shocked when he actually answers. Today was another incredible day in the life of our Compass Roanoke Campus. Here are some highlights from the day:
1. Our set up team is nails every week. They faithfully and wonderfully serve week in and week out. Thanks for showing up at 6:30am to unload a trailer so people will know Christ.
2. We have one of the most gifted worship teams period. These people are not only incredible musicians, but they are incredible worshipers. They lead us into the throne room of God week in and week out.
3. First service was slammin…LOVE worshiping with our first hour peeps. You guys were so loud in worship today that it gave me goose bumps.
4. Robyn Crocker (Our admin normally) filled in today as our Children’s Minister. She was money. We had mass amounts of kids today and she handled it like a champ.
5. Today’s message was about El Roi (The God Who See’s ME). By far one of my favorite messages that we have preached thus far in this series. If you missed it go to our website and check it out this week.
6. Got to pray with a husband/father who wants to be the spiritual head of his household the way that God has called him to be.
7. Got to pray with a mom/wife who was struggling with a long time addiction today and I believe is finding out what true freedom really means.
8. Did I mention that we have the best volunteers…PERIOD!!! WE LOVE YOU ALL MORE THAN A T-SHIRT CAN EVER TELL YOU!!!
9. In second hour today we had to add more rows of chairs to accommodate all the people that showed up.
10. We were torn down, locked, and loaded in record time today. Thanks to our second hour people who stayed to dilligently help us make that happen.
11. I got to take an EPIC nap this afternoon when I got home…IT FELT GREAT!!!
Know that I love you all more than words can express. Please make it a point to pray through the process of getting into our permanent facility. Pray that there are no barriers in the way of what God wants to accomplish. Pray that God will move mountains if need be and expect that he will. Have a great Sunday night and I look forward to seeing you all this next week as we close out this incredible series called “FIRST PERSON”
