Today is already a great day. I have registered my oldest child for 1st grade, hung out with my wife, drank a chocolate banana vivano at Starbucks and am currently listening to Muddy Waters Blues album and praying and reflecting on our day yesterday at Compass Roanoke. I like sitting on what happened the day before for a night. It really gives me fresh perspective on what and how God moved. Here are a few highlights from our day yesterday. Our set up team never ceases to amaze me. They LOVE what they do and I must say that I LOVE them for it. They are unreal. Rob and our team did an incredible job with the Beatles song "All You Need Is Love"...British accent and all :-)... to open the service. This series on Proverbs is reaping huge benefits in the lives of our people. To have the whole body going through the same scriptures and reading the same things brings a cohesion to the church unlike anything else we do. This past month I have had the privilege to work on a project that is showcasing a man with a dream and vision for something he has longed for his whole life. David Vaughn is a local musician. He he has been playing piano since he was five years old and now at the age of 51 he is finishing his first full length album. These are songs that have been in him for the past 45 years. Songs that he has written in books and on pages decades ago and is now putting them into rhythms and sounds. I have heard the rough tracks and they are great. It is classical meets love song.
