biggest day in our churches history…TOMORROW!!!

almost three years ago i started a journey with a group of people that has been like none other i have been on. these people had a heart beat for something different. these people had a spirit that could not be broken. these people had a determination that could withstand the struggle and the storm.their resolve was unlike any other i had every experienced. now here we are almost three years later and God has been up to big things. every sunday morning in an elementary school in the middle of roanoke, tx a group of people gather for a purpose. that purpose is not to just come together and sing nice songs and hear an inspirational message. that purpose is to transform the world. the purpose is for us to have the world long for what we have and then actually share it with them and invite them along for the journey. we have had lots of life changing days in the life of our church, and tomorrow is no different. now i like to think that every time we gather life change occurs, and it … [Read more...]

today is the day!!!

for the better part of the last 10 months we have been in prep mode for this years mrs. texas pageant. my wife is running this year and i am pumped for her. i think she has a better than good chance of winning. she looks great. she has worked hard. she has served well. now... today is the day. in a few short hours i will be loading up the girls in the car and heading out. we have some good friends joining us and it shall be a grand time. if you are interested i will be giving play by play twitter updates all night during the pageant itself. i am so proud of my wife and the example she is to so many. … [Read more...]

two doors down

the alarm went off at 6:15am this morning. i was awake long before that. for whatever reason, even though i went to bed at 12:45am, my body was ready to rock at 5:33am today. however, i did not want to leave the comfort of my bed and since my bride is out of town my natalie was snuggled up with me. for the better part of an hour i simply laid and listened to her breath in a serene rhythm. finally i relented to the steady tone of the alarm and we both looked at each other, stretched out our bodies and rose from the comfort of the tempurpedic. i dropped my girls at school and made my hour and fifteen min. drive to corsicana, tx where my wife is running to become the next mrs. texas. last year she had told me of this little coffee shop called "two doors down." she told me that it may in fact be the coolest place she had been in. i got to tell you...she was right!!! i met their owner todd and for the past hour we have been talking music, creativity, local community and serving others. … [Read more...]
