This is one of the beautiful girls in the village in Uganda. She was injured by the LRA and lost both of her parents at their hands. Yet this smile is full of hope and melts hearts. This makes me thankful today.

We got to be there for the opening of the water well we helped raise money to put in for this village. There are now over 400 families from 2 villages that will now have clean drinking water. This makes me thankful today.

This girl was the first girl to pump water from the new well. She was so excited to have fresh water. This makes me thankful.

Normally not a two tone edit guy, but the hope in the yellow of that can for these children is huge. This makes me thankful.

My good friends over at the organization SHE DANCES are in the middle of a campaign to raise money to get their safe house in Honduras funded for the next year. They are asking 200 people to commit to $20 a month for the next year. It seems a small price to pay to give girls their lives and innocence back. Here is what they wrote on their website recently:

Every girl deserves to dream. Every girl deserves hope. Every girl deserves to love and to be loved. Every girl deserves to dance. When she dances she is alive… when she dances she is free. 2. The Duck Duck Collective is one of my favorite creative spaces on the web. These people are great photographers, videographers, graphic designers, and all around dang good people. 3. Daley Hake is one of my favorite people on the planet. Not only is he a good friend, he is a phenomenal photographer and musician. He launched a new website a few weeks ago with some of his latest work. Everything he shoots is inspiring and innovative. I am so thankful for all of his help at getting me going a few years ago back in the world of photography. His website is simple, yet very cool to look at. Please go and love on a great friend and creative.

4. My good friend Pete Wilson just wrote a great book that you should go pick up NOW!!! Go ahead…I will wait…Ok, now that you have your copy follow these instructions. Open the book, turn to page one, now repeat step two for each page following until you get to the back cover…then…go back to step one and repeat (or RE-PETE)…sorry…bad pun. Love ya Pete!!!

5. My good friends Jeremy and Nedra have started a great new campaign to rescue girls from the sex trade in Honduras. Here is what they wrote on their blog this week: On Wednesday, May 12th we’re launching a campaign to find 200 people who will give $20 a month for girls who are victims of human trafficking. 200 people giving $20 a month means that a safe home in Honduras for victims of human trafficking will be fully funded for one year. 100% of the funds from the campaign directly fund the healing, hope, and future for girls in Honduras who are rescued into our home. Aaron and his wife took the incredible leap to adopt a couple of children from Haiti. Just recently they brought home one of the two beautiful children they were in the process of adopting. Then the unthinkable happened and the earthquake hit and their little boy Amos was put on hold.
